Account book and other documents pertaining to the business affairs of the Prairie Grove, Arkansas physician, 1865-1876, and to land and business transactions by others in and around Prairie Grove and Viney Grove, Arkansas, 1836-1887. Materials relate to Andrew Buchanan, Leander Buchanan, John Moore, Lucinda Moore, and Peter Van Winkle.

Approximately 4,125 sheets of drawings include tracings on vellum, flimsy, graph and bond paper. Included are renderings, sections, elevations, floor plans, site plans, schedules, details, and topographic maps. The drawings are arranged alphabetically by project title.

Scope and Content Note The historical papers which comprise Series 1 were maintained to support historical and genealogical research at Headquarters House in Fayetteville, where the society has its offices and a historical museum. The original order of the files has been retained as far as possible, with some adjustments to provide easier access to the materials.
