Arrangement

Materials have been retained in the order as received from donor Carol Reel, which reflects organization by format and by family; series and subseries have been imposed to reflect the primary content groupings.

Box 1 consists of albums and publications. Materials in boxes 2-3 were originally organized by the donor following an arrangement scheme wherein blue folders followed Blanchard F. Reel’s paternal line; green folders followed his maternal line; red folders followed the paternal line of Maude Divelbiss Reel; and yellow folders followed the maternal line of Maude Divelbiss Reel. Within each of these color schemes, the folder tab location indicated whether a folder pertained to the direct male line (right-tabbed folders) or an indirect line (center-tabbed folders). Materials were refoldered during processing for preservation and storage reasons, but this original order has been retained; “(R)” has been used to indicate folders that were originally right-tabbed, “(C)” to indicate folders that were originally center-tabbed, and “(L)” to indicate folders that were left-tabbed. Materials originally in full-tabbed folders or not foldered have not been assigned any parenthetical markings.
