Scrapbook, circa 1937-1957
Scrapbook primarily includes clippings, particularly documenting Drake’s baseball career with the Springfield Cardinals and later with the Fayetteville Merchants. Also included are a roster of the Columbus Baseball Club, and some event flyers, including one advertising a baseball game between the Merchants and the 324th Infantry, 44th Division of Fort Chaffee at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Scrapbook primarily contains clippings, particularly related to Drake’s career with the Columbus Red Birds, the Mobile Shippers, and the Fayetteville Merchants. The last page includes a flier for a Merchants game against the Camp Gruber Tank Destroyers at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Loose at the back of the scrapbook is a “Quality Award Certificate” awarded to Drake by the Campbell Soup Company in 1967.

The collection contains seven scrapbooks of materials relating to Jake Drake's baseball career, including with the Springfield (Mo.) Cardinals, the Fayetteville (Ark.) Merchants, and the Fayetteville (Ark.) Chicks. Six scrapbooks primarily contain clippings, but also include some fliers, posters, and a certificate. One scrapbook primarily contains photographs of baseball as well as of Drake's friends and family.
