Biographical Note
Ethyl Louise Harper was born October 18, 1889, to Mr. and Mrs. William Grigsby Harper of Prairie Grove, Washington County, Arkansas. She graduated high school in Prairie Grove, then attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. In the following years she worked as an elementary school teacher in Farmington, Washington County, Arkansas, as well as in Prairie Grove.
Harper married Charles Oliver Phillips on January 24, 1917. They lived in Prairie Grove and had one son, Charles O. Phillips, Jr. Ethyl Phillips died January 12, 1980.
