Biographical / Historical

Beta Gamma Sigma is an international academic honor society for business administration students. It was founded in 1913 at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois, and the University of California. The Alpha of Arkansas Chapter was chartered on the U of A campus in 1932. It is an invitation-only society and membership is issued to colleges’ most outstanding academic students. Beta Gamma Sigma is run by membership-holding officers as well as faculty advisors. Annually, the Arkansas Alpha Chapter selects a businessperson whose personal and professional achievements exemplify the ideals of Beta Gamma Sigma. As of 2024, there were more than 980,000 members of the society from more than 600 collegiate chapters, in all U.S. states and more than 190 countries. Beta Gamma Sigma is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS).

There are three subjects in this collection that are in the following order: Beta Gamma Sigma membership leaflets, Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Banquet programs, and the Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha of Arkansas Chapter Charter.
