Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a 17th-century sheepskin indenture documenting the lease of land in Kent, England from Canterbury Cathedral to farmer Paul Epps, as well as a draft of a partial transcription of the indenture that was created by Ann Vizier in 1968.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The indenture was found by the Rogers Public Library in a book donation; the Library placed the item in storage with Special Collections in 1968. In October 2022, the Rogers Public Library Board of Directors voted to donate the indenture to Special Collections, and it was donated by Library Director Hannah Milligan and Brice A. Wagner on behalf of the Library on December 2, 2022.
