Biographical / Historical

Lee Treadwell was born in 1864 in Texas but moved to Arkansas at the age of two. He graduated from the Arkansas Industrial University in 1888 with a degree in civil engineering. He worked as an assistant engineer for J.A.L. Wadell of Kansas City, where he worked on bridges and elevated railroad construction, most notably the bridge across the Missouri River at Sioux City, IA. He later worked on the dry dock of the Navy Yard at Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
