Biographical / Historical
The Ozark Food Processors Association was a Fayetteville, Arkansas-based professional organization with close ties to the University of Arkansas Department of Food Science. It originally began as the Missouri Valley Canners Association in the 1900s; in the mid-1920s, as a reflection of its expanded geographic scope, the organization changed its name to the Ozark Canners Association. In 1962, it became known as the Ozark Canners and Freezers Association; it adopted the Ozark Food Processors Association name in 1980. The organization was dissolved in October 2018.
A history of the organization from 1906-2006, A Century of Success: A Snapshot Look at the History of the Ozark Food Processors Association, is present in Box 2, Folder 2 of the collection.
