Biographical / Historical
The VA Hill Neighborhood Association was organized by residents to advocate for neighborhood residents' interests, and had its first meeting April 16, 2002, at the home of Darla and John Newman on Holly Street. VA Hill is a Fayetteville, Arkansas neighborhood roughly bounded on the west by Gregg Avenue, on the east by the VA Medical Center and College Avenue, and on the south by North Street.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The VA Hill Neighborhood Association Records were donated to Special Collections by Darla P. Newman of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on June 18, 2014. Newman and her husband, John Harrison Newman, were founding members of the Association and hosted the first Association meeting in their home.
