The correspondence in F1 is concerned with funds for various Arkansas projects being withheld by the Bureau of the Budget. There is a substantial amount of correspondence between the Bureau's director, Percival Flack Brundage, and JWF over the release of the funds. Other correspondents include James Lloyd Bland, Hollis R. Williams, and E. O. Yancey. Additional subjects are the Arkansas Library Commission, Caney Creek Project, economy in government, Employment Security Division, flood control, Library Services Program, national debt, and Ohio River.
