Gillespie, Third Arkansas Infantry (Consolidated), due to her material distress following the death of her husband Flemming in 1863. Also included is an attached furlough for John signed by Confederate headquarters staff at Lewisville, Arkansas; a separate statement on John Gillespie's character by Captain John H. Wofford of the Third Arkansas; a period photo/sketch of Flemming Gillespie in uniform
