Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of a diary and a partial hand-written transcription of the diary concerning the Officer's time in Arkansas.
Entries in the diary are fairly brief usually stating location, weather conditions, the well being of the Officer and his soldiers, and whether the chaplain was preaching or not. Much of what is written concerns the Officer's time spent fighting and marching in Arkansas (Batesville, Jacksonport, and Helena areas).
