The collection consists of a series of personal correspondence, dating from 1945-1949, from Earle C. Makin (1917-1990) to Oreste V. Unti, a friend and former colleague. Included with one of the letters is a 1949 photograph of Makin's home at 1250 W Oak Street, El Dorado, Arkansas. Makin, who was living in El Dorado, Arkansas, and working for Lion Oil at the time, writes about his personal life, his professional work as a chemist, and his archaeological hobby.
