The collection consists of two copies of a typescript of an autobiographical essay by Mildred E. White, "My Year at Southland Institute" (3 pages). The essay discusses White's experience as a volunteer teaching at Phillips County, Arkansas' Southland Institute, a Friends-run college for African-Americans, from 1918-1919.
