A large portion concerns political appointments and Clark's ties to Senator Hattie W. Caraway and Congressman Ben Cravens. Also included are several newspaper clippings (primarily obituaries of Clark) and one broadside (folder 4) concerning the national elections of 1932.

Scope and Content Note The material relating to Clark's bid for himself or his friends to be appointed U. S. Marshall dates from 1932 to 1940. It comprises primarily copies of letters of reference in Clark's behalf, but also includes two petitions and an incomplete index created by Clark of the reference letters. The general correspondence spans 1931-1940. It is primarily business correspondence related to Clark's banking interests and involvement with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.
