Content Description The collection consists of recordings on audiocassette tapes and interviewee release forms related to a 1986-1990 oral history project conducted by the Eureka Springs Preservation Society to preserve the stories of Eureka Springs residents. Recordings are primarily oral history interviews; also included are recordings of Eureka Springs Preservation Society General Meetings that included related presentations. Content Description

The collection contains a scrapbook, clippings, photographs, and correspondence created by, collected by, or related to Parham "Sonny" Johnson. The bulk of the materials are related to Johnson's time as a student at Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas and as a member of the Subiaco Trojans football team.

A broadside announcement of the opening of the La Crosse Male and Female Academy in Izard County, Arkansas. The announcement is elaborately printed on good paper, announcing the opening date as September 4, 1876. Names of the officers and trustees of the school are listed as well as the financial terms "per session of five months."

The collection contains a photograph album and two loose photographic prints of Little Rock Air Force Base Elementary School and its students and faculty. The album primarily includes class portraits; a photograph of an unidentified man at the beginning of the album may be the school principal. Class portraits are identified by the grade level and the teacher's last name; no students are identified.

The collection consists of records relating to the Proft family, and particularly to Paul Otto Proft and his wife, Florence Ellenor Beers Proft. Many Proft family members lived in Mena, Arkansas and Polk County; the collection particularly includes materials related to Mena's Trinity Lutheran Church. Materials include scrapbooks, correspondence, photographs, vital records, memoirs, and genealogical research. Much of the genealogical research was compiled by Helena Beers Buechner.
