There is also documentation concerning the lives of Neil Ernest Compton (1912-1999) and his wife Laurene Putman Compton (1916-1991).

The collection includes letters primarily written by members of the Towell family, Samuel Towell's certificate of registry for land in Clarksville, Arkansas, and one photograph (tintype). The letters pertain to early Arkansas, the Civil War, and the California Gold Rush. The tintype is of Nancy Atkins Towell, wife of Samuel Towell. Samuel and Nancy Towell had three sons: John H., William, and Isaac.
Upchurch Family Papers

There are also papers, including itemized accounts of daily expenses Fredrica and Grace Upchurch maintained over a sixty-year period, and photographs concerning the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State Normal School (later renamed Arkansas State Teachers College), and Fort Smith public and private schools.

John J. Egger's certificate as postmaster of Egger, Polk County, Arkansas (1886), and diary kept on a calendar pad by Johnny Egger, 1927. The diary includes notes on the weather and a day-by-day account of Egger's activities: farming, hauling, woodcutting, hunting, and visits.
