Scope and Content Note

The papers consist of correspondence, most of which pertains to Charles J. Finger, and some to his daughter, illustrator Helen Finger Leflar. Also included are Finger's diaries, notebooks, manuscripts, indexes, and other papers as well as materials by Helen Finger Leflar, Mrs. Charles J. Finger's guest book, clippings, photographs, film, and microfilm. The three indexes, prepared by Finger on index cards, comprise an index of his bibliography, and one each on music and literature.

Sepia or black and white prints, produced by Julius Herman Field in and around Fayetteville, Ark. Includes scenes near Happy Hollow Farm, the University of Arkansas, the Washington County Courthouse, Monte Ne, and Eureka Springs' Crescent Hotel; portraits of Charles Joseph Finger, John Leonard Hancock, Margaret Campbell Hancock and Marian Campbell Martin; and several unidentified subjects.

Scope and Content Note The papers in this collection reflect the personal and professional life of Charles Morrow Wilson, a man who made his living as a writer from the early 1920's to his death in 1977. Besides his free-lance career in several genres, he was employed by institutions, governments, and corporations, almost always in the capacity of interpreting those entities in print.
