This subseries contains correspondence between Compton and his family, friends, and acquaintances. Correspondence related to the Ozark Society is located in Series 2, Subseries 1. Additional correspondence can be found in Series 2 in folders based on subject.

This series is comprised of certificates, letters, newspaper clippings, medals, and drawings. Among the drawings are depictions of Larry Obsitnik by Arkansas Gazette cartoonist George Fisher. The drawings also include one of Albert Alligator by cartoonist Walt Kelly.

Scope and Content Note From the Collection: The collection includes correspondence from 1973 to 2000, information on volunteers from both Arkansas and Bolivia, and different projects of the Arkansas POA chapter. It also includes information on programs the chapter established in Bolivia. This series consists of two subseries. The first contains personal materials such as biographical materials, award certificates, clippings, and information about the McRae family. The second includes materials related to McRae’s role as an environmentalist, and includes materials related to the Ozark Society.

Rosseter, Williamstown, Massachusetts, regarding the contemplated publication of a work by an unidentified third person; and letter, dated at La Grange, July 12, 1833, from Marie Joseph Paul Roch Yves Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette to Nathan J. Rosseter, in reply to Rosseter's inquiry about French military schools.
