The papers consist of correspondence, most of which pertains to Charles J. Finger, and some to his daughter, illustrator Helen Finger Leflar. Also included are Finger's diaries, notebooks, manuscripts, indexes, and other papers as well as materials by Helen Finger Leflar, Mrs. Charles J. Finger's guest book, clippings, photographs, film, and microfilm. The three indexes, prepared by Finger on index cards, comprise an index of his bibliography, and one each on music and literature.

The papers consist of personal correspondence of Fannie and her sister, Era Hardy; national and Arkansas state records of the Business and Professional Women's Clubs; papers pertaining to the career of Sarah Frances (Fannie) Hardy; and some papers of the Hardy family. Also included are papers concerning the military career of Era Hardy, much of which concerns service during World War II. The collection has been reproduced on microfilm.

Many of the pictures were not identified. Note that pictures originally attached to or included in the correspondence files (mostly snapshot portraits included with applications for employment) have been left in Series 1 (correspondence).
