Scope and Content Note

Videocassette tapes and transcripts of 41 documentary television programs produced by Jack Hill. The programs present various topics, but predominantly educational and social issues affecting Arkansas residents. Other topics, all with an Arkansas focus, include the Civil War, tourism and local culture, and public health issues. Programs entitled "What's Working" present innovations in various Arkansas schools. These documentaries were broadcast by AETN, Arkansas Educational Television Network.

Summaries of the programs were supplied by the donor.

Arrangement of the Papers

The collection is separated into two series for storage, but the videotapes are numbered to correspond with the transcripts.

Acquisition Information

Jack E. Hill, producer of TeleVision for Arkansas, began donating videocassette tapes and transcripts of his 41 documentary television programs to Special Collections in 1996. Videotapes 37 through 41 were donated and added to the collection in December 1999.

Separated Materials

"Use copies" of the videotapes were separated from the collection and cataloged for the Audio Visual Department.

Processing Information

Processed by Cheri Pearce, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in February 1998 and December 1999.

Updated by Katrina Windon in November 2017 to include box 4.
