Historical Sketch

The Ozark Society Foundation is a conservation organization with scientific, literary, educational and philanthropic programs in the Ozark-Ouachita Highlands and adjacent areas. It was established by the directors of the Ozark Society in 1975 to carry on nonprofit educational programs including publishing. Ozark Society Books is the publications order-processing operation of the Ozark Society Foundation.

Acquisition Information

The Ozark Society Foundation Records were donated to the Special Collections Department, University of Arkansas Libraries, in increments between 1982 and 2007 by the Board of the Ozark Society. Additional materials (Box 4) were donated by Ozark Society President David Peterson in August 2022.
