Biographical Note
C. D. Wright was a poet, a recipient of the Citation of Distinguished Alumni of the University of Arkansas, and a member of the Department of English, Brown University.
The Lost Roads Project was organized by Wright to "provide Arkansas and its visitors with a prideful sense of what has been written" by Arkansas people. Subtitled "A Walk-in Book of Arkansas," the project was a traveling exhibit, 1994-1996, featuring 21 post-World War II Arkansas writers. It consisted of photographs and printed excerpts of poetry and prose, with music, video, and crafts. Wright received a grant from the Reader's Digest - Lila Wallace Foundation in 1992 to finance the project, which was sponsored by the Center for Arkansas and Regional Studies at the University.
