Scope and Content Note

The collection contains research material collected by Weller for his book, Joe T. Robinson: Always a Loyal Democrat (University of Arkansas Press, Fayetteville, Arkansas, 1998).

The entire collection consists of photocopies of selected issues of Congressional Record; Congressional reports; correspondence, telegrams, memoranda, speeches and statements, reports, press releases, newspaper and magazine articles, memoirs, autobiographies, statistical data, and manuscript collections from repositories such as the Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Libraries and the Library of Congress; miscellaneous articles from the New York Times; and other printed material.

Biographical Note

Cecil Edward Weller is a history instructor at San Jacinto College South in Houston, Texas. A recent doctoral graduate of Texas Christian University, he has served as coeditor of American History Reader (Kendall/Hunt Publishers, 1992) and Our Legacy: Articles and Documents in American History (American Heritage Custom Publishing, 1996).
