Scope and Content Note
The records consist of the club's twenty-five scrapbooks spanning from 1941 to 1995. They contain newspaper clippings, yearbooks, membership rolls, lists of the officers, budget, awards, letters, picture post cards, newsletters, announcements, programs, brochures and leaflets, admission tickets, photographs (1988-1989 yearbook contains a group picture with George Bush), and miscellaneous memorabilia. The records also contain the club's minutes of the meetings, by-laws, membership lists, an accounting ledger, awards and certificates not displayed in the scrapbooks, yearbooks, a song book We Sing, and the club flag.

Biographical Note
The Springdale B. & P.W. Club was organized on February 7, 1941 with the help of the Fayetteville B. & P.W. Club. Ethel Smith served as the first president. The club received its charter from the National Federation on March 17, 1941 and resolved to pursue the organizational objectives: to elevate the standards, to promote interests, and to extend opportunities to business and professional women through education.

Acquisition Information
Thelma Harris of Springdale, Arkansas, donated the Springdale Business and Professional Women's Club (B.& P.W) Records to the Special Collections Division on August 27, 1997.
An additional scrapbook (Box 13) was donated by Jane Treat.
