Biographical / Historical

The formation of the Survey Research Center at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville was approved by the Board of Trustees on September 18, 1998. The center staff reported to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research (later the Vice-Provost for Research and Economic Development). The purpose of the center was to promote, enhance and facilitate social science research. Center staff offered varying levels of support to clients from consultation to full design and implementation of a research survey. They assembled interdisciplinary teams of researchers and conducted research on a variety of topics. The center closed in 2012.

The finding aid is arranged with physical materials first followed by digital materials. Physical materials are arranged with Survey Research Center administrative files first followed by survey material arranged chronologically. Digital folders are arranged alphabetically.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The University of Arkansas Survey Research Center Records were donated by the Survey Research Center through James M. Rankin, Vice-Provost for Research and Economic Development, on August 31, 2012.
