Scope and Contents
The collection consists of records related to the professional career of journalist Kenneth C. Danforth, as well as Arkansas-related materials collected by Danforth. Materials include copies of Danforth's writings; resumes; photographs taken by Danforth of David Pryor's 1976 gubernatorial campaign; and an Arkansas Sesquicentennial souvenir packet containing reproductions of historic photographs of El Dorado.

Biographical / Historical
Kenneth C. Danforth (1935-2018) was an American journalist.
Danforth was born March 19, 1935, to Vera Mae Kinard and Kenneth Cole Danforth, Sr. in Longview, Texas. As a high school student, he worked for the El Dorado Daily News. While a student at the University of Arkansas, he served as 1956-1957 editor of the student newspaper, the Arkansas Traveler. He worked for the Arkansas Gazette from 1961-1962, before becoming Public Relations Director of the Arkansas Oil Dealers Association in 1962. He later served as managing editor of the National Geographic News Service, among other positions, and had freelance work published in outlets including The Atlantic and Reader's Digest.
