 Collection
Identifier: MC 2575

Content Description

The collection consists primarily of Arkansas home demonstration club records, and particularly those related to Washington County home demonstration clubs and to the Washington County Extension Homemakers Council. Of the Washington County club records, the bulk pertain to the Baptist Ford Extension Homemakers Club and to the Busy Bees Extension Homemakers Club (Fayetteville); smaller subsets of materials relate to the Growing 59ers Extension Homemakers Club, the Habberton Extension Homemakers Club, the Viney Grove Extension Homemakers Club, and the Weddington Extension Homemakers Club. Additional records relate to Sebastian County Extension Homemakers Clubs and to state-level and national activities.

Materials include club yearbooks and record books, by-laws, correspondence, event materials, meeting minutes and notes, scrapbooks, photographs, financial records, and other materials.

In addition to home demonstration club records, there is also a small subset of printed materials that were likely collected by clubs or club members, possibly related to events that they held, as well as draft materials for a Goshen United Methodist Church cookbook.
