The collection consists of records created or collected by Hans Hiller, a pharmacist who lived and worked in Germany before emigrating to the United States and eventually settling in Rogers, Arkansas. Materials include travel and identification documents, including inter-zonal travel permits from Hiller's time living in Lüneburg, Germany; correspondence and documents related to Hiller's pension; mid-century-era souvenir views of international cities and travel destinations; and other materials, many of which are in German.

Biographical / Historical

Hans (John) Hiller was a pharmacist who was born in Danzig (then part of the German Empire, and now Gdańsk, Poland) on Nov. 9, 1915. He later lived and worked in Lüneburg, Germany before emigrating to the United States and eventually settling in Rogers, Arkansas. Hiller passed away March 31, 1988.

The Hans Hiller Papers were donated to Special Collections by Hiller's widow, Elizabeth Hiller of Rogers, Arkansas on May 1, 2018.
