Biographical / Historical

People Respecting Individual Differences and Equality (PRIDE) is a registered student organization established at the University of Arkansas in 1983. The group aims to provide “supportive, social, educational, outreach, and community events, activities, and opportunities for students at the University of Arkansas who identify as members of the LGBTQQA community. PRIDE seeks to offer a safe and welcoming place to focus on issues facing individuals on campus, in the larger community, and in society and generate a more supportive and inclusive campus climate. PRIDE is associated with several other student groups including oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and the Lavender Society whose materials are also found in this collection.
