Biographical / Historical
Ralph Barnhart was a former dean of the University of Arkansas Law School. Barnhart was an Ohio native who came to Arkansas after World War II first serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Law. Barnhart was later promoted to Professor of Law and then later became Dean of the Law School in 1958, a position which he held until 1972. Barnhart significantly contributed to legal teaching in the state by overseeing the establishment of a law program in Little Rock in addition to his lengthy service to the Fayetteville campus.
