This collection primarily consists of photocopies and pages printed from websites containing biographical information for individuals who have received honorary degrees from the University of Arkansas. The dates listed with the folders are not the dates which the contents of the folder were created but rather the date when the individual received the honorary degree. The collection also contains digital files.

Biographical / Historical
The practice of awarding of honorary degrees at the University of Arkansas goes back to the 19th century. Degrees can be awarded posthumous but are more typically awarded to a living individual with extraordinary accomplishments in scholarly achievement, public service, or philanthropy.
