Scope and Contents

John Vickery land patent, deed, and receipt. 1) Patent, dated Nov. 27, 1820, to 325 acres of land in T5N, R9W, Arkansas, issued to military veteran John Vickery and bearing autographs of Pres. James Monroe and U.S. Land Commissioner Josiah Meigs; endorsed on verso. 2) Deed, dated May 29, 1821, executed by Vickery and wife Deborah to assign some lands to Henry Howard of New York City in consideration for $150; endorsed on verso and on attached filing receipt by T.W. Newton, Pulaski County circuit clerk. 3) Receipt, dated New York, Apr. 2, 1849, given by North American Land Agency to Henry W(?) Cargile for $35 paid on taxes on same land due for 1846, 1847, 1848.
