Letters pertaining to the professional, business, political, and other affairs of David Walker, Fayetteville, Ark. lawyer, jurist, politician, legislator, and state supreme court justice. Part of the material relates to the affairs of the Whig Party and to the Civil War and Reconstruction in Arkansas, and to the Arkansas Industrial University in 1874. Correspondents include: John D. Adams, Mark Bean, John J. Clendinin, John R. Eakin, Elbert Hartwell English, Augustus Hill Garland, Lorenzo Gibson, Thomas Montague Gunter, Robert Ward Johnson, James Mitchell, Christopher G. Scott, Jesse Turner, James David Walker, George Claiborne Watkins, William Edward Woodruff, Jr., and Archibald Yell. Also included is a biographical sketch of Walker written by Susan Howard Walker, 1933.
