The Teaching and Faculty Support Center of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville was established in 1992. The goal of this organization is to serve as a resource for the faculty of the university to learn about new teaching techniques, facilitate their skills, and cultivate a higher quality of teaching. In 2002, the center was renamed the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center in honor of Dr. A. Wallace Cordes, a chemistry professor who had been with the university for nearly fifty years and helped co-found the center with Paul Cronan and Ro DiBrezzo. The center attempts to aid the faculty through a variety of annual workshops, retreats, trips, and other events. Much of the collection is made up of materials created for these annual events which span from small hour-long luncheons to multi-day teaching camps.
