Scope and Content Note
This collection contains materials related to the architecture firm of Harralson & Mott and collaborations with the firm of Mann & Wanger of Little Rock. The majority of the collection is drawings and other materials related to three projects the firms jointly designed for the campus of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. In addition, there are a limited number of drawings related to projects designed solely by the firm of Harralson and Mott. These include the Maude Baker Theatre in Oklahoma. Drawings include technical drawings, original sketches, renderings and blueprints and some related correspondence.

Biographical Note
The architecture firm of Mann & Wanger of Little Rock collaborated on several projects with the firm of Haralson & Mott, of Fort Smith. Haralson & Mott was established in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1935 by Joe J. Haralson and Ralph O. Mott. Mann & Wagner was the partnership of Little Rock architects George Richard Mann, perhaps best remembered for his contributions to the design of the Arkansas State Capital, and Harry Wagner. Mann’s earlier partnership with Eugene J. Stern, Mann and Stern, produced many significant architectural designs the Quapaw and Ozark Bathhouses in Hot Springs and Little Rock High School. The Haralson & Mott firm underwent a number or leadership, organizational and name changes. Haralson died in 1955. Mott, had a long career with the organization and earned a Fellow American Institute of Architects and retired in 1993. By 1995, the practice was known as McGowan Anderson Hunter & Griffin, Inc. The final name transition in the 20th Century was to MAHG Architects. In 2019 the firm continued to practice under that name.

Haralson & Mott And Mann & Wanger Architects Materials were donated to the Special Collections Department by Larry McGowan in three accessions from 2017 through 2018.
