Biographical Note

Hiram Heartsill Ragon (1884-1940) was an Arkansas politician and and judge. He served as U.S. Congressman from Arkansas, 1923-1933, and judge of the U.S, District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, 1933 until his death.

His son, Hiram Heartsill Ragon, Jr. (1917-1975), served as Prosecuting Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Arkansas, 1942, member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, 1943-1948, president of the Arkansas Bar Association, 1961-1962, and state official, 1967-1975.
