The Arkansas Centennial Commission was a group created in 1933 as the Honorary Centennial Commission with a change in name in 1935. It was chaired by Harvey C. Couch, founder of the Arkansas Power and Light company and was composed of a large body of members and nine member executive committee. The Commission was responsible for raising funds and making plans for celebrations of the state's 100th anniversary of joining the United States.
