Biographical Note

Francois Mauriac was a French author and laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was born in Bordeaux, France in 1885 and had a long career in literature writing in many different styles and genres. Mauriac graduated from the University of Bordeaux in 1905, was elected to the French Academy in 1926, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1952. Mauriac passed away in Paris, France on September 1, 1970.
