Biographical Note
Ida Pace Purdue was a graduate of the University of Arkansas in 1888. She served as an associate professor of English and Modern Language from 1895 to 1898. She married Albert Homer Purdue in 1898. Ida was involved with the founding of the Chi Omega Fraternity, a national women's social organization established in 1895 in Fayetteville. Serving as the first president and then as the first editor of the group's official publication, Eleusis, Pace served as national president again from 1906 to 1912.
