Scope and Content Note
The scrapbooks were created by the Fayetteville chapter in order to document the activities of the club. They include newspaper clippings, photographs, and programs pertaining primarily to local club events, but state, regional, and national Business and Professional Women's Club affairs are also included. Scrapbooks for May 1946 - Dec 1964 are missing.

Biographical Note
Organized in July, 1919 at St. Louis, Missouri, the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs is the oldest and largest organization created to promote the interests of business and professional women. The Fayetteville chapter was formed in 1924 by Mrs. W.S. Gregson and fourteen other charter members. Its members supported the public library, the United Relief Association, the Red Cross, Harmon Playfield, and various city beautification projects.

Materials are arranged chronologically.
Acquisition Information
Scrapbooks pertaining to the Fayetteville Business and Professional Women's Club were donated by that organization to the University Libraries periodically from the 1940s through the 1980s. Originally cataloged in the Arkansas Collection of the Special Collections Department, the scrapbooks were transferred to the manuscripts division on September 19, 1986 by Andrea Cantrell, one-time librarian in the Special Collections Department.
