Acquisition Information

The John S. Beebe Photographs were copied from positive prints loaned by John S. Beebe, Sr. of El Dorado, Arkansas, from his private collection (images 1-44p), and from positive prints in the Lion Oil Company archives, loaned through the courtesy of Lion Oil Company Public Relations Department staff W. Edwin (Ed) Cox and Louise Ritchie of El Dorado (images B1-B5 and A1-A8), with the cooperation of the Arkansas Historical Association, in October 1973.

Images B1-B5 and A1-A8 were copied from 5" x 7" glossy prints; Images 1-40 were copied from 8" x 10" glossy prints; images 41p-44p were copied from panoramic views.
