Biographical Note
Ulysses S. Sartin (1867-1934) was a Kansas City, Kansas-based attorney, real estate broker, investor, and postmaster. He was born November 28, 1867, to Hiram Cable Sartin and Nancy Jane Bushong. He was a law partner of E. A. Enright, and served as Kansas City postmaster from 1902-1907. Sartin's other political involvement included serving on the central committee of the Republican Party of Wyandotte County, Kansas, in 1897, as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1912 and as state chairman of Kansas' Progressive Party in 1914. Sartin passed away November 25, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Acquisition Information
The Ulysses S. Sartin Papers were donated to the Special Collections Department by Dorothy Jamison of Cypress, Texas, via James Johnston, in October 2012. Jamison inherited the materials from Sartin's daughter, Elizabeth Sartin McFarland, who had been one of Jamison's neighbors.
