In 1894, she married Hallam Pearce of Winslow, although the marriage was annulled in 1901. In 1908, she married Gilbert N. Duncan, owner of The Winslow American; she subsequently became editor of the newspaper. Her husband died in November 1918, and she never remarried. Duncan was elected mayor of Winslow in 1925, serving through 1927. She is known nationally for her work as a journalist and her civic leadership. She died in 1958.
