Biographical Note

Ambrose "Brose" Masingill (1871-1941) served as County Clerk in Cleburne County, Arkansas, from 1905-1908, then as county Sheriff from 1911-1912, and then as a County Judge from 1921-1925. In 1926, he ran for Commissioner of State Lands, Highways, and Improvements, losing to Dwight Blackwood. He married Eva Reichardt in 1916, and the couple had a daughter, Charlotte.

The Brose Masingill Leaflet was purchased by the Special Collections Department from South by Southwest Books (List #30, Item #123) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, circa summer 1986.
