Scope and Content Note

The collection primarily consists of letters from Percy Lafayette Morris, Jr., to his mother and stepfather, then living in Winchester, Arkansas, while Morris was serving during World War II. Also included is Morris' sugar ration booklet, and a family quilt honoring those who served in the U.S. military.

Biographical Note

Percy Lafayette ("Bo") Morris, Jr., was born October 11, 1920, to Percy Lafayette Morris, Sr. and Clara Hope Rhodes Morris. He served in France and Germany during World War II as a Captain in Company A of the Supply Battalion of the 2nd Armored Division. Morris passed away December 15, 1981, and is buried in McGehee Cemetery in McGehee, Arkansas.
