Scope and Content Note

Scrapbooks of clippings, hymnals and other songbooks, cartoons, periodical literature, and other published materials received or collected by McIntosh and pertaining to his interests in veterans' affairs. Material relates, especially, to: the American Expeditionary Force of World War I; the AEF Paris Convention of 1927; the American Legion, its La Societie Des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, its 10th national convention, 1928, and its Department of Arkansas. Some material relates to U.S. armed forces in World War II.

Biographical Note

Gerald J. McIntosh was born in 1894 in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). In 1919, he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he worked for the Rock Island Railroad. McIntosh was a long-time collector of historical documents.
