This series contains over 400 black and white, half-tone, hand- colored, and color prints, plus 82 duplicates of Daisy and L. C. Bates; the Little Rock Nine; political figures; entertainers; honors and awards bestowed on Daisy Bates; the Mitchellville OEO Self-Help Project; friends and family; and the Bateses' home. There are also 42 negatives. The majority of the photographs were taken in the 1950s and the 1960s.

All measurements are in inches, height x width. People are identified (unless otherwise noted) from left to right. Photographs are black and white unless otherwise indicated.

A "D" indicates that a photograph has one or more duplicates (see Subseries 17). Duplicates have the same number as the original print, but with the suffix "D." In many cases, these duplicates are not additional prints from the same negative, but rather almost pictures taken at the same time as the one designated the original. After the "D." the number of duplicates is noted, as well as measurements or type of picture, if different from the designated original.

An "(N)" indicates that a photograph has a negative (see Subseries 18). Negatives have the same number as the original print, but with suffix "N."

"(Postal card)" indicates that the image was printed to be used as a post card.

"(Half-tone proof)" indicates a printed halftone proof of a picture.

"(Processing print)" indicates a print made during processing.
