The collection contains all types of correspondence and information concerning the War Relocation Authority - General Information such as offices and functions of the War Relocation Authority, facts about it, administration highlights, wartime handling of incarceree property, problems of incarceree resettlement, constitutional principles involved in the relocation program, and the public relations program of the War Relocation Authority.

The legal correspondence consists of letters between Washington and the ten relocation centers, with the most extensive being about Heart Mountain, Wyoming and Tule Lake, Montana. There are a number of individual hearings concerning leave clearance, repatriation and expatriation, loyalty to the U.S., and personal charges.

In the publicity are newspaper items, magazine articles, and other published articles. Most deal with the problems of Japanese-Americans and the way they had to respond to their forcible incarceration.
