Scope and Contents
Film negatives are available to researchers, so long as the negatives are not removed from their protective sleeves.
The photographer is usually not identified. Some of the negatives were probably made by John H. Ganner; most of the studio portraits from the 1930s and 1940s were probably May Russell's; the family photographs may have been taken by Ganner, Russell, or the Ganner children or grandchildren.

Separated Materials
Some 150 of them were cellulose nitrate negatives, which have been disposed of. Prints have been made of 50 nitrate negatives, as well as of a few of the safety film negatives. Many of the safety film negatives were badly deteriorated. A few were kept and an attempt was made to separate the emulsion of some from the backing, but most were discarded. In all, some 500 safety film negatives of the studio portraits and 825 of the family pictures were discarded because of the condition of the negative, the lack of identification, or the repetitiveness of the Images.
